Your Locomotive Roster
The Roster screen displays all locomotives configured for your layout. From here, you can browse your collection and select a locomotive to drive.
Viewing Your Roster
Each locomotive in the roster shows:
- Photo — If one was added in the Cloud app (uploaded or AI-identified), the locomotive's photo appears on its roster entry; otherwise a placeholder is shown.
- Name — The locomotive's display name (e.g., "UP 4014 Big Boy")
- DCC Address — The decoder address used for communication
- Road Name — The railroad company (e.g., Union Pacific, BNSF), selectable from 77 searchable American roadnames
The roster supports five view modes -- Cab, Avatar, Plate (the default), Card, and Table -- plus sort controls and a roadname filter, all from the toolbar above the grid. The Roads filter lists only the road names actually present in your roster, so it stays short and relevant (it hides entirely when your locos share a single road or have none).
Tap any locomotive to open its throttle control screen and start driving.
Managing Your Roster
Most roster management -- adding new locos with a photo, running ✨ AI Enrich to auto-fill details and function mappings, editing decoder functions, or building consists -- happens in the Cloud app, and changes appear in the Throttle roster automatically in real time.
For a fast add without leaving Throttle, a Quick Add Locomotive form sits above the roster grid -- enter a DCC address (and optionally a name) to add a loco on the spot.
