Command Menu

The Command Menu is the Throttle app's power-user surface: a dialog that gives you in-place control of your running locomotives, quick access to settings that matter on the page you're viewing, and a search prompt for jumping to anything else. It's available on every page when you are logged in with a layout selected.

Opening It

  • ⌘K button — the button at the top-left of the header (where a hamburger menu once lived). On desktop it's a pill showing Menu ⌘K; on phones and tablets it's a compact ⌘ icon button.
  • Keyboard — press ⌘K (or Ctrl+K) anywhere in the app.

Quick Nav

The menu opens with a compact grid of every section of the app — the same destinations as the navigation bar's More sheet, one tap from anywhere. It shows whenever the search box is empty, so the menu doubles as a full-app launcher before you've typed a thing.

Active Cabs

The top section lists every locomotive you currently have a throttle for. Each row is a mini throttle control showing:

  • The locomotive's address plate and name.
  • A stop button, −5 and +5 speed buttons flanking the current speed readout, and an eject button to park (release) the locomotive.

Tapping the row itself jumps to that locomotive's full Throttle Control screen. This is the "drive from anywhere" surface — nudge a speed or stop a train without leaving the page you're on.

Settings That Know Your Page

The menu's Settings group always offers the essentials — theme and throttle style — as inline cycle controls: tap (or use ←/→) to flip through options without leaving the menu. On pages with their own display options, extra rows appear right alongside them:

  • Throttle / Conductor — speed display (Analog dial / Digital readout).
  • Roster — view mode and sort order.
  • Turnouts — view mode.
  • Track Diagrams — an Open editor (Cloud) shortcut appears under Navigation.

There's no separate section to learn — page-aware settings are ordinary settings rows that come and go with the page you're on.

Search

At the bottom, a "What do you want to do?" prompt searches everything — pages, locomotives, actions. Type and press Enter to jump. Typing replaces the quick-nav grid with live results; the navigation bar's More sheet (see Throttle App → Navigation) offers the same full app map without opening the menu.

Visibility

The Command Menu is available on every page in the Throttle app as long as:

  1. You are logged in.
  2. A layout is selected.
